How to Connect to a Windows VPS Using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)

Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) allows you to connect to another computer over a network connection. Here’s how you can connect to a Windows VPS using RDP.

Step 1: Get the IP Address and Login Credentials of Your VPS

Before you start, make sure you have the following information:

• IP Address of your VPS
• Username (usually "Administrator" by default)
• Password for the VPS

Step 2: Open Remote Desktop Connection

1. Windows 10/11:

• Fullscreen Mode: To switch to full screen mode, press Ctrl + Alt + Break.
• Disconnection: To disconnect but keep the session running on the VPS, simply close the Remote Desktop Connection window. To log off and end the session, use the Start menu on the VPS and choose Log off.
